Managed cPanel to Webuzo Migration

Move your hosting forward.
Keep costs under control.

Rising control-panel costs should not force a rushed server move. HostGree helps you assess Webuzo, migrate your hosting accounts and coordinate a carefully tested transition with minimal disruption.

A move with a business case

Optimize the cost.
Preserve what your customers rely on.

We start with your workloads, account count and operating requirements. Together, we compare the expected licensing, infrastructure and support costs before recommending a migration scope.

Hosting providers & resellers

Plan account batches, review packages and reseller relationships, and coordinate customer communication around a manageable transition.

Businesses & agencies

Move business websites and mail services with checks for application dependencies, customer-facing forms and essential scheduled jobs.

Teams reviewing expenditure

Assess potential savings alongside migration work and ongoing administration. The right fit depends on the features and services you actually need.

The migration process

A controlled move, from discovery to handover.

Each stage has an agreed outcome. Testing and your cutover approval come before live traffic is redirected.

  1. Discover & assess

Inventory accounts, domains, disk usage, databases, mailboxes, PHP versions, DNS ownership and custom services. Identify unsupported dependencies and agree the scope, estimated effort and maintenance needs.

  2. Prepare & protect

Prepare the destination stack, security settings and required resources. Confirm backup availability and recovery options, document the source configuration and agree the rollback criteria.

  3. Pilot & transfer

Test a representative account before larger batches. Select an appropriate import method for the access and software versions available, review transfer logs and address items requiring manual work.

  4. Validate before switching

Preview sites on the destination. Check application logins, database access, forms, permissions, PHP behavior, scheduled tasks and mailbox access against an agreed checklist.

  5. Coordinate the cutover

Agree the change window, final data synchronization and any write pause needed for active applications. Coordinate DNS, SSL and mail routing changes, then test the live services.

  6. Observe & hand over

Review errors, service health and mail flow during the agreed observation period. Provide an exceptions list and handover notes. Retire the source only after acceptance and an agreed retention period.

What minimal downtime means: We plan to keep interruption as short as practical. Zero downtime may be achievable for suitable workloads, but active database writes, mail synchronization, DNS caching and application changes can require a brief maintenance window. We set expectations after assessment.
Technical specialty

Beyond copying accounts.

Our focus is hosting operations across cPanel/WHM, Webuzo, Linux, web applications, DNS and mail infrastructure. That broader view helps us investigate the dependencies that an import success message cannot validate.

  • Web-stack configuration, PHP versions and extensions, file ownership and scheduled jobs.
  • MySQL/MariaDB compatibility, application configuration and checks for changing data.
  • Mailbox formats, mail routing, SPF/DKIM/DMARC and outbound IP or PTR changes.
  • External DNS providers, SSL certificates, security tools and backup configuration.
Compatibility checkpoints

Confirm exceptions before the move.

Webuzo's import documentation identifies requirements that need special attention:

  • Mailbox storage: confirm MAILDIR compatibility; MDBOX accounts may need conversion before import.
  • Database types: PostgreSQL and MongoDB require a separate migration plan rather than relying on the standard account import.
  • Custom integrations: review billing automation, backup agents, security products and nonstandard services individually.

Import behavior depends on versions and method. Technical reference: Webuzo's official cPanel import guide.

An operations-led approach

Practical experience.
Clear ownership at every stage.

HostGree brings hands-on hosting administration and troubleshooting experience to the migration: investigating application problems, diagnosing mail delivery, reviewing DNS and coordinating server changes.

Protect the recovery path

Confirm recovery copies before changes, preserve the source during validation and document how to respond if acceptance checks fail. Rollback includes reconciling data written after cutover.

Handle access carefully

Agree a secure access method, limit permissions where practical and arrange removal or rotation of temporary credentials at handover. Do not send passwords with the initial inquiry.

Define completion together

Agree what will be tested, who approves cutover and how long post-migration support lasts. Custom fixes, license fees and third-party work are scoped before the migration begins.

Common questions

Know what to expect.

Can you guarantee no downtime?

We design for minimal disruption and assess whether a zero-downtime approach is realistic. Some workloads need a short write freeze or maintenance window to avoid inconsistent data. The cutover plan states this before work proceeds.

Will everything from cPanel transfer automatically?

We verify the supported import scope and test the result. Custom services, integrations and certain database or mailbox formats may need manual work. Exceptions are recorded during discovery.

How long will it take, and what will it cost?

The estimate depends on account count, data size, transfer speed, application complexity and manual remediation. Share an overview and we will prepare a scope and quote, including any separately charged destination or licensing costs.

Should I cancel the old server first?

Keep the source available through migration and validation. Agree a retention period and confirm that services, mail and backups work before decommissioning it.

Can you migrate selected accounts first?

A pilot or phased rollout is often useful. We can scope a representative test account or batch to identify issues before scheduling the remaining accounts.

Start with an assessment

Tell us what you want to move.

Send a non-sensitive overview. We will review the requirements with you, identify compatibility questions and propose the scope, timeline, access arrangements and cutover plan.
